今年、リーガで一番活躍を期待している選手、という企画をkoboさんのブログ（ファーポコさんの仲良しブログ）で行われているので、投票してきました。そこで、誰に注目しようかと考えたとき、即「ルイス・ファビアーノ」の名前が浮かび上がりました。
ルイス・ファビアーノってだれ？という人に一言でいうと、すごいブ男です。そして、凄いストライカーです。写真を並べて見ましたので、参照ください。
「とりゃーっ！オレが”ファベーラ”だ！！」
ルイス・ファビアーノ、通称ファヴェーラ（ブラジルの大都会にあるボロボロのスラム街のこと、つまりルイスは見てくれが悪いという意味）について紹介すると。
1980年サンパウロ州、第二の都市カンピーナス生れ、今年25歳。14歳から地元グァラニのユースでプレー。17歳で地元ポンチプレッタに移籍し、プロデビュー。2000年にはフランスのレンヌに移籍するも出場機会を得られなかった。2001年サンパウロにレンタルされるとFWフランサ（レバークーセン）とMFカカの二人とともにチームの攻撃の要にのし上がる。2002年にはブラジル選手権の得手王に輝く。
「キメたるでえーっ！！」
フランサ、カカがチームを去った後も、2004年8月までサンパウロFCに在籍しゴールを量産した。それに黄・赤色のカードコレクターでもあり、いつも審判や相手チームの選手とイザコザを起す問題児プレーヤーとしても名を馳せた。どんな時も元気いっぱいに戦う彼はサンパウロFCに在籍中、チームのシンボルとしてサポーターに愛された。

ルイス・ファビアーノの醍醐味は何と言っても、その豪快なプレーにある。彼のシュートやドリブルはいつも「ここに来る」と警戒しても凄まじい破壊力で守備網を突破していく。彼の破天荒なイメージは、同タイプのアドリアーノやジュリオ・バチスタ（今季チームメイト）を超える魅力がある。とくにルイス・ファビアーノのエリア内のシュートは地面から鋭角に放たれてゴールネットの天井を突き上げる感じで、見ていて爽快。

2004年9月から前ヨーロッパチャンピオンFCポルトの一員になるが、ケガをしたまま移籍したためスタメン機会を逃し、その後もポルトガルの場に適応でず、さらに母がブラジルで一時的に誘拐された影響もあり、ずるずると低調気味でシーズンを終える。昨年トヨタ・カップでもスタメンで出場したが結果を残せず途中交代。顔に似合わず以外とナイーブな面が影響して、結果を残せない時期にある。
「ヨーロッパ・サッカーがナンボのもんじゃい！ウルァッ！」
今季からリーガ・エスパニョーラのセビリアに移籍。これが彼にとってヨーロッパでの正念場であり、来年ドイツW杯のFW枠の一つをかけた最後の見せ所となる。移籍先のセビリアは今年リーガとUEFAカップの両方を戦う。チームメイトにFWバチスタ（開幕前に移籍するかもしれないが）、右MFダニエウ、左SBアドリアーノ、MFヘナトといったブラジル人に加え、CBセルヒオ・ハモス、右SBヘスス・ナバスなどの注目選手がいる。チームは昨年リーガ6位という好成績だったものの、宿敵ベティスが4位になったことに危機感を募らせている。
